Scott's L.A.™ Hollywood History Article:
Warner Brothers VIP Tour

Visitors from all over the world tell us the same thing:  their most memorable experience in L.A. was the Warner Brothers V.I.P Tour.  This is a behind-the-scenes tour of “the real thing,” real movie-making inside a studio.  They have a “standard” tour (about 2 hours) and an expanded, more expensive tour for true movie fans (about 5 hours) which includes lunch in the studio commissary.  Every tour is given in small groups, 8-10 people, each with your own personal tour guide.

NOTE:  This tour is not for everybody, particularly children who get bored easily.  This tour focuses on movie history and “how they do that” which, to some, is “less than thrilling.”  There is no staged entertainment, and no guarantee of what you’ll see on any given day.  If you want guaranteed entertainment for the whole family, including great rides & attractions, you might do better at the “granddaddy of them all,” Universal Studios, Hollywood, which is right across the street.  But for true movie lovers, Warner Brothers is an experience you’ll never forget.

The photos below were taken while on the “Burbank Media District” part of our Scott's L.A.™ Hollywood Audio Driving Tour CD.  (Ironically, Burbank looks more like “Hollywood” than Hollywood does!)  Coming down Barham Boulevard from the Hollywood sign, these sound stages at Warner Brothers will be on your right.  Just to the left of the ER sign is Gate 2, and behind that you can see Stage 6 where Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, Treasure of Sierra Madre, and Rebel Without A Cause were filmed.

The photos below were taken on Warner Boulevard.  The parking lot is directly across the street from the tour entrance.  Just over the parking lot you can see part of the buildings on “Tenement Street” on the back lot.  See those dark brown buildings?  That’s where Kirsten Dunst received her “upside-down kiss” from Tobey Maguire in the original Spiderman.

IMPORTANT:  The official tour address is on Riverside Drive, but that’s the back side of the building which means you could drive by the tour, miss it, and not even know it.  The red line on the map below is the actual driving route you’ll hear on our Scott's L.A.™ Hollywood Audio Driving Tour CD coming down the hill from the Hollywood sign.  This takes you directly to the tour entrance and parking lot.  Last time I checked I could not see an address from the street, but if you are using a cell phone that displays GPS, the coordinates are 34.14729 (N), –118.34091 (W).
